Mausoleum (1983) by Michael Dugan

For generations, each eldest daughter of the Nomed family (spelled backwards: Demon) has been possessed by an evil, demonic creature held captive in a mausoleum. Directed by Michael Dugan, Mausoleum caused a sensation at the 1983 Paris International Fantastic Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize and the Best Actress Award. It stars the alluring scream queen, Bobbie Bresee (Ghoulies, Surf Nazis Must Die, Evil Spawn), and Marjoe Gortner (the star of Star Crash). But Mausoleum is also, and perhaps even primarily, about the impressive prosthetic makeup designed by an undisputed master of special effects: John Carl Buechler (Ghoulies, Re-Animator, From Beyond, Friday the 13th Part VII, Halloween IV, and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master). Originally released in France and on videocassette by Super Vidéo Productions (Sergio Gobbi).
