3 DVD BOX-SET TARZOON: SHAME OF THE JUNGLE (1975) Tarzoon: Shame of the Jungle (French: Tarzoon, la honte de la jungle) is a 1975 adult-oriented French/Belgian animated film directed by cartoonist Picha and Boris Szulzinger. The film was the first foreign-animated film to receive both an X rating and wide distribution in the USA. This film is also known as Jungle Burger in the United Kingdom. THE MISSING LINK (1980) Because of the remarkable success of the 1975 film, Tarzoon, la honte de la jungle, Picha was encouraged to address another myth, that of Darwin and his theory of evolution. More ambitious than the previous film, production lasted from 1977 to 1979. Animation took place in Belgium, New York, France, and London. Despite undeniable improvements, the film was a critical and commercial disappointment. As with Tarzoon: Shame of the Jungle, the original foreign language version was so raunchy that the dialogue had to be rewritten when the film was released in the United States to avoid an X rating. THE BIG BANG (1987) The Big Bang is the third feature by Picha, which includes Picha's typical devastating humor and his love of provocation and nonsense. Picha claims that the film is "the culmination of a trilogy, a mixture of these concerns in the other two films ... a little more tied to the news of the day, only more excessive. The Big Bang is a film about the all wars, including personal wars you find in the family." Directors: Picha, Boris Szulzinger France/Belgium PAL Region 2 Language: English Subtitles: Dutch
